This is the 2nd week of the Designing the Parks program – and it’s been a really productive and exciting. A major highlight was meeting Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewel and hearing her thoughts on youth engagement in our national parks and resources and on climate change.
Another major highlight of the week was working with Tim Layton, our resident AutoCad, GIS, all things technical guru took us through an OCLP base map clinic that blew my mind. We were introduced to AutocadMap – which allows one to geo-reference our lines and points back into the real world! We also learned a ton of useful commands and tricks that will make us much more efficient in computer drafting.
And so, I’ve spent much of this week creating basemap for the Woodlawn tract in preparation for our 4 day trip next week.
